**Note: The optional false hinge-fronts shown on the above Gate #29 are available from two sources. The original custom shop in NC, with the following costs:
$350 pair - Plain black finish - rust control paint
$400 pair - Black powder coated iron
$500 pair - Special colored powder coated, including faux bronzes
$1,200 pair - Solid bronze (in burnished, light antique and dark oil rubbed)

As a cost conscious alternative, A similar hinge at Wild West Hardware. These should be sourced directly by the homeowner.

A typical Garden Gate #29. Unfinished and without the decorative hinge-fronts.

The Wood gate #29, like all of Prowell's gates with solid panels, is designed to accept heavy rainfall. Equipped with what we call "weep holes" for a self-draining design that allows the wood to expand and contract and makes all the difference in a gate that lasts six years and a gate that lasts several decades, perhaps a lifetime.

With a straight-on view we see that the flanking panels have been mounted slightly low, losing the suggested 2" bottom clearance while misaligning to the horizontal gate rails.

We also show columns with an irregular, uneven stone, requiring the temporary jambs be mounted to the cinder block core before the stone is ste. The total tickness of the jambs is 3-3/4", which is the distance from the block to outermost stone, plus 1/2". For more on jambs to Ireegular surfaces, see Product Specifications

Not so typical if you happen to live in a one-room plank cabin overlooking a waft of bluegrass with a cerulean blue lake beyond the dale and wake up to the chirping of birds-in-love and spend your days on the front porch building sentences and smoking your pipe.

Showing a Cabot semi-solid stain matching the house trim. Oriwekk does not offer the semi-solid or solid stains as a pre-finish option. And we suggest you allow the gate to air out, or acclimate to it's first exposure to the full climate of sun and precipitation prior to applying any painted or solid-body finishes. Anything, basically, that is not a absorbing finish.
