A complexity of geometric vectors and miters that might warrant a closer scrutiny.
Like many of the #200 series of garden gates, #207 is not for everyone.
GARDEN GATE 207-1
Originally the gate was created with the purpose of utilizing the lighter and darker tones of cedar to create this secondary illusion. Staring at it for a few days and growing increasingly dizzy, it was refinished to neutralize the confusion, resulting in the above photos. *If you stare at it long enough, the inner patterns become apparent.
GARDEN GATE 207—IN-PROGRESS
The assembly process occurs in stages. The half-lap dadoes for the below horizontals were created with stop-blocks to insure the alignment was the same.
MODERN GARDEN GATE #207–PROGRESS
Following the above stage, we join and clamp the mitered ends and we now have our primary segments locked in place.
MODERN GARDEN GATE #207–PROGRESS
Dry-fitting the two vertical stiles as the final step in the gate’s assembly.
MODERN GARDEN GATE #207–PROGRESS
Clamping the first of the inner pattern, and pausing for a photograph.
