Gate Stops
Gate Stops for outdoor garden gates are often utilized when there is a need to maintain the gates in an open position, such as gatherings and parties. It is not recommended to use a hook and eye type solution, as the hook is positioned too close to the gate’s hinge stile and can cause undue leverage on the gate joinery over time. The first option below, DS230, simply mounts too the slab or walk about 2/3rds the width of the gate. Too much further out and it can become an obstacle to trip over. The second option, DSH401, is simply a bronze wedge that might serve the same purpose as a brick, only a little more aesthetically pleasing.
