The flush-Joined Grid Pattern associated with Garden Bench #22 was borrowed from the Glasgow, Scotland-based architect / designer Charles Rennie MacIntosh, practicing around the turn of the last century in a style pre-dating Arts and Crafts and that later came to be known as Art Nouveau.
