CUSTOM WOOD GARDEN GATE #24
Craftsman style wood gates with the typical Stepped Rail and an example of tightening the picket arrangement for less visibility,
To maintain the friendly appeal of an open picket style, while providing visual privacy, the pickets of this gate design are only 1″ width and spaced at only 3/4″ instead of the normal 1-1/2″.
Shown with the 3rd-party thumb latch 40-300 and accompanying dead bolt, available through Coastal Bronze

B ecause the stone is only marginally uneven, the jambs were mounted directly onto the stone, requiring a little cold-chiseling of the high points to insure an even, stable seat before bolting the jambs to the stone using masonry spread bolts.
* Homeowners Julianne and Jeannette Regards scurry out front this Saturday morning, prepared for the kudos and compliments from a profusion of neighbors and passerbys. Prepared this Saturday for what they had been told to expect, but refused to believe.

CUSTOM WOOD GARDEN GATE #24-1
Toronto, Canada
Craftsman wood gate #24-1, in Toronto, Canada. Flanking panels and Arbor #1 as an assembly mounted to the site posts.
Because there are no other gates between these and the site swimming pool, the gates shown are restricted to local pool-access codes–hence the latch is at 60″ above the grade. The gates are also swinging out, away from the property, and fitted with self-closing spring hinges. Three requirements sited by almost all local building codes in the U.S.

Larkspur, CA (Marin County)
The original double garden gates #24, recently located in the photo archives, dated 1995. For several years, Larkspur’s Madrone Canyon was ground zero for the earliest gate prototypes–all of which still exist, scattered throughout the Madrone Canyon.
