Gate design 67 is marked by a horizontal upper grid alignment similar to Gate Style #68 and Gate Style #98. The grid patterns can change in their proportionate layout as per the width-to-height ratio. This particular example is an unusual 57″ width x 54″ ht. Ideally, the width shouldn’t disproportionately exceed the height. For instance, if we were to have a gate that is, say, only 12-inches high and 4-feet wide, we would be stressing the top hinge joinery beyond it’s designed application. An extreme example, granted, but you get the point; gates are subject to gravity and resist that gravitational pull on the integrity of the joinery alone.
