WOOD GARDEN GATES #74
Traditional wood garden gate designs such as #74, #23, #39, and #51 are inspired by the original 20+ gates sketched by Thomas Jefferson for the University of Virginia.

The limitation with our traditional Colonial garden gate designs #74 is the requirement of a square opening. The upper pattern must have the same dimension both horizontally and vertically. The wider the gate, the lower the middle horizontal rail. For instance if your gate is 48″ width x 72″ height from the grade, the net opening between the stiles is 37-1/2″. Therefore, the top of the middle rail will be only 27-1/2″ off the ground.
