When Prowell’s custom wood garden gates are mounted to stone columns, a pair of jambs is required. When the columns are of irregular stone, such as these, it is best to mount the jambs to the block core and set the veneer stone to the jamb. This requires that you provide us with the depth of the proposed stone from the block core to the most proud point of the stone. A mock jamb is set in place temporarily so the stone masons can proceed, and when the Wood Gate arrives, with it’s jambs, the jambs are the thickness of the stone to the block, plus another 1/2″ to insure the gate doesn’t bind against a stone when opened fully.
