On a wooded, organic site such as this, it’s an obvious solution to insure both the gate and fence designs are open, exposing the landscape and planting. It is also an example of where a finish of stain or paint would dictate an aesthetic that is too formal for the surroundings. Left instead to weather to a natural gray.
