Wood garden gate designs #62 is limited in width to 42″. Spacing between pickets at 3/4″.
For wider gates, the slats must be stabilized by either Pattern Blocks, or a continuous through tenon.

At only ¾” spacing between the pickets, any bowing or misbehavior is noticable to the laymen’s eye. Hence the limit on the gate width for this design.
