PRIVACY GATES 77-a
Prowell’s open grid dual-swing wood gate 77-a is based on Garden Gate 77 with the major exceptions of offering a secondary inner privacy gate and a speakeasy sliding door. Creating three privacy options:
- Open the inner Privacy wood gate;
- Close the inner Privacy wood gate;
- Closing the privacy gate and opening the sliding speakeasy door as if you were the Gatekeeper of OZ.
As viewed upon approach from the street, with the speakeasy door open. Shown with 3rd-party Coastal Bronze hardware.

IN-PROGRESS
How do I build this gate 77-a?
77a–PROGRESS
Dry-fitting the extended bottom rail to the stiles.
77a–PROGRESS
The final assembly and clamping. As a departure, we also framed the grid itself with a border sandwiched against the primary dual gate frame so when the inner solid gate is closed, with it’s required hinge and swing clearance, there will be no visible gap, or sight-line.
77a–PROGRESS
Ben having completed that portion of the dual swing gates representing the 77a, with only the inner gate left to complete. And let’s be honest: the secondary gate is no piece of cake.
